Interesting entry, I really liked the aesthetic!

I recommend adding movement, more variety in the level, and an ammo/reload mechanic instead of infinite auto-shooting.

I also would like if the whole first row of upgrades started unlocked to allow more personalization in the upgrade path taken.

I didn't quite make out the connection to the theme either.

The game felt polished, very impressive work!
