How does the game fit the theme?
Fortuna embodies ‘Risk for the Biscuit’ by making every Blackjack hand a high-stakes gamble: the closer you get to 21, the more damage you deal—but bust, and you pay the price, so, every round you're risking for the most amount of damage (and coins!)
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
All visuals and audio were sourced from multiple creators, including Kenney, https://fageltomten.itch.io/fantasy-playing-cards, and https://tallbeard.itch.io/music-loop-bundle
. We also used a template for some basic menu and card game setup. Everything else (including game logic, UI, animations, balancing, and playtesting) was created entirely by our team during the jam :)

Well executed little Blackjack game.
Great game! Love the visuals and the music. I understand it might have been hard to do in a week, but I'd love to see more of a deck builder aspect to this, kind of like balatro. The upgrades as they are are kind of basic. Also, upgrades persist through runs, which was probably unintended, thought I should let you know. Anyway, congrats on the great submission!
Enjoyed the gameplay, it as a fun Blackjack experience. The game’s unique concept of “dealing damage” to the dealer is a funny and engaging twist. I see a lot of ways to expand the game. Great job.
The visual style of this game is amazing, there is an insane amount of polish even down to the itch page.
This was a lot of fun to play, well done!!!
It was a simple but fun Blackjack game. It would be nice if there were more interesting upgrades (replace one of your cards, remove cards, etc.). Also, once I realized upgrades are permanent, I started to lean into a less tactical gameplan, since it doesn’t really matter how much I win, I can always buy upgrades later.
Thanks! Great ideas — more upgrade variety (like card manipulation) is something we’d love to explore. We’re also rethinking how permanent upgrades work to keep runs more tactical. Appreciate the feedback!
I thinks its a really funny idea to play against the dealer and deal damage to him
Thanks! Our idea was to make the dealer feel like a fantasy RPG boss, each one themed after a tarot card. In the future, we’d love to give them unique abilities too. Really glad you liked it!
