Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!
So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.
Okay, so I'm gonna be perfectly honest. I did NOT like playing that. At all. You see, when I'm playing a racing game I want one of two views: a first person view that has no visual obstructions at all so that I can see everything, or a third person view that gives me a greater view of everything around me. THIS GAME IS NEITHER OF THOSE. IT'S A FIRST PERSON VIEW WHERE MORE THAN A QUARTER OF THE SCREEN IS OBSCURED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. If this was a much slower game or was mostly straight, I wouldn't care. However, it's a game that wants you to go very fast, is VERY curvy and even the car itself seems to slide a lot.
Now this isn't exactly an issue with your game. This is just me. Some people may like this kind of gameplay. Regardless, I'm going to do my best to give feedback as I can.
First, I noticed that you're able to drive through a lot of terrain objects, while in other places you get caught on stuff when there's nothing there. I'm sure you can see the issue. In fact, I even got caught behind one of those big turning signs because a rock - that I assume was to block the way behind said sign - had no collision on it and I drove through. There were also times where the terrain would pop up one side of my car and it'd just stay in the air unless I came to a near complete stop. Even a small amount of momentum kept it up.
Another thing I noticed was that, despite the game telling me that the drones had batteries that gave them limited life, and that supposedly using the electric engine was supposed to prevent them from hearing my vehicle and thus chase me, neither of these things happened. Regardless of whatever engine I was using, some drones would always chase and some would always ignore me. In addition, they never went away. I just kept hearing the number of drones shooting at me going up the whole time.
I also noticed there's nothing for adjusting graphical or audio. The former is less important at this time given how short this prototype/demo is, but the latter would still be nice. When I booted this up, I found the starting volume to be a bit too high.
I think that's all the feedback I can give. I'm gonna go cry in a corner now. I don't know how to end this now, so I'm just gonna stop typing here.
