Can relate. I actually intended my game to have an inventory system and consumable items at one point. Man, those ideas got left on the cutting room  floor so hard I almost forgot I had them in the first place.

Still Both of our games turned out pretty good and for me this game is a much more advanced than my other game. the only spot i messed up this time around were the player collisions and movement, otherwise in my previous jam game T-Minus Time, this is what i had made:
