Hi! I'm enjoying this game and I feel it could be a hit with a few QoL twitches.

Note that most of the problems I see could be solved with a small tutorial or tips at the beginning. I know this is a Jam game, and it's great as it is for that, but I feel it's potential for a greater player base that enjoy incremental games.

  • I didn't notice where the shop was. I get you don't want to clutter the UI, but a button (maybe under "Cereal Collection") could be a good option, or maybe recolor it the tag. For other reasons you've read later, maybe a general UI revamp could be an option.
  • I'm not sure about how the spoon works. First it moves around the bowl, I click, and then it repositions itself and now when I click starts moving. I found it weird, until a couple of times started moving (or got stuck) in the first click and I missed the chance to position it where I wanted, so I guess there is a mechanic I'm not understanding.
  • There is no options' menu! At least a small one to disable music and/or sound effects.
  • The tweezers! Until I discovered what they were for... They are counted in the main UI, with no explanation on hover. Then you get them in the same box as cereals (where they do get a hover tip). After reading the tip I expected them to a) either be a cereal that collects other cereals or b) a "single use" spoon-like to cherry-pick a single cereal. Didn't expect them to be used inside the cereal collection.
  • I have multiple bowls, I don't know if they should show on screen, or what is their purpose? The increase in the cereals number is a different value and I don't see a multiplier.
  • When you buy cereal bags, there should be an "add all" option.
  • The opening and closing animation of the shop just drags the game and gives a bit of motion sickness (I know this is a "me" problem, since I'm sensitive).
  • I don't know if I haven't unlocked it yet, but a way to skip the cereal count to get the money would be nice to speed up the game, specially since isn't an idle.

Nevertheless, if I've listed all this, is because I've been playing enough to notice. Hope you keep developing this!

Edit: Forgot to add! A "new" over a cereal you haven't seen yet or don't have on your bag when you buy would be nice too!

Thank you so much for taking the time to play the game and give this much feedback! This is extremely valuable! While some things are there only because there wasn't enough time to finish them (the whole UI is basically the block-out of the UI I had in mind... which then ended up as the final UI ahahaha), everything you've said is definitely getting on the to-do list! Most could be solved with a tooltip, but a little UI revamp won't hurt. Especially the shop animation, I didn't realize it could bother some people. Also the spoon animation, the original mechanic was the spoon going only through the center (hence it hovering around the bowl), which then I changed to be click and drag to set the direction to give more freedom (and get more cereals overall). Some rework is needed to communicate better how it works.

Happy to help, can't wait to munch some new cereal updates!!

PS: I think I know what the multiple bowls are... are they taking our money after a certain amount of turns, like in "Luck Be a Landlord"?? I thought the red dollars were some kind of prestige money we'll get in the future, but then it clicked, hahaha. I didn't know we were playing against the clock, I was playing as if it were a chill game :P
