Very well incorporates the risk theme. If there were more enemies and level varieties in the future this could easily be an addictive rougelite.

Purple cage also felt odd to me, maybe just locking the door would have made it clearer it is intentional. I also wasn't sure about the "polished" upgrade, i kept buying it out because i had too much money, but it didn't seem like gems give to the timer.

you gain time when you exit based on how many gems you gathered on that floor. The polisher upgrade would increase the time gained from the gems gathered upon exiting. Although it was really tough to balance I think it ending up not being too powerful in the end.

Also the purple cage was the only piece of placeholder art that I never finished. The original idea was to have the doors have bars over them but I didn’t know how to visualize that with the way I ended up doing the walls in the end.
