Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!

So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.

So, uhh... that was interesting. I'll admit, I was thrown off by the abrupt ending. Just came out of no where. I expected to have to do a few more days, but instead it was just done. It's atmospheric and creepy, with the constant power outages and the radio that keeps turning on, but there doesn't feel like any tension or pay off to it all.

That said, there's a bunch I can say about this game. There are a lot of small issues as well as some things I'd just recommend doing. I'm going to split these into two groups: text related issues and gameplay related issues.

First, I'd recommend doing something to avoid the bouncing text during the "Day 01" part. I know it's a result of the cursor flashing, but the text bouncing throws off what you're going for. Instead, once the  "Day 01" is typed, it should stay stationary. There's also a typo in the dialogue during the phone call. He says his named is "Jhonny" but that's not how that name is ever spelled. It should be "Johnny." I also felt like the text speed needed to be upped. I know that I can click to speed it up, but this is for people who want the experience to be a little more cinematic.

In terms of gameplay, I noticed that the phone can't be interacted with if you're too close. Then there's when you're making speaking choices; you're forced to use W and S then to press Space (a button that isn't even used for anything else) to confirm your choice. This instead should be done with the mouse to match up better with all of the other controls. Another issue I had was with the breaker. When the power first goes out, the player has no idea where the breaker even is. I'd recommend giving it a highlight that goes through walls so players know where to go. Alternatively, ensure they're told the breaker is in the freezer as otherwise they may not notice it.

My next few bits are going to focus on putting the food together. In general, the way putting food together went felt weird. The buns and all of the toppings aren't even on the tables you need to use for assembling burgers, and the game's designed where you just pick up cooked fries and nuggets with your hands. What I'd suggest doing is trying to consolidate the different tables for burger making down into two tables, where the player has access to buns and toppings all from the same spot. Another thing I'd suggest is that, rather than picking cooked items up with your hand, you need to use items to pick them up. For fries, you need the fries packaging to get them, with the fries going directly in. The same would be for the nuggets. For burgers, you need the bun base. Then you can put it on the packaging paper to begin assembling the burger. There also needs to be the ability to discard a burger that's being built incorrectly. I noticed that if you put just the buns down without adding a patty, you can't wrap it up and thus lose the table. It should be possible to remove the entire thing and discard it at any time.

Lastly, I had a strange bug occur the first time I served the third customer; despite giving him what he wanted, he claimed I gave the wrong order. However, it still processed his order as being correct. Not sure what that was about.

Hello, thank you for giving my game a chance. There’s definitely a lot to improve, and I admit this wasn’t the demo I would have liked to release, but I’m working on making it better. I really appreciate the feedback, some issues I’ve already fixed in a new demo I’ll be releasing, and others I’ll be adding to my list to work on. Thank you so much :D
