Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!

So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.

I love Forest Time. I just love Forest Time. It's such an adorable game. It's also been great to see its evolution. I vividly recall when it was designed where you had to just plan a route and everything would go. Now there's so much more control and I love it.

There are two things I feel it still needs. First, it needs sound effects for different things from moving to picking up items to hovering over different things to make the game feel responsive and alive. Second, the undo turn function needs to be less picky. The way it is now, if you go past a fairy and cause it to move, you can't undo. It'd be nice if undoing didn't just undo your move but allowed you to undo entire turns. That way, you wouldn't need to restart if, say, you realized you made a mistake on turn 3 of 6 when you're on turn 5. Having this sort of memory is a normal thing for games like this.

With that said, I have two questions. First, how in the heck are you supposed to get the treasure in Ninja? It feels impossible to me. Number two... that first treasure... was that... was that ring... did you put... I'm very scared for Ron... Please tell me it's not...

Thank you for playing! Your comment made my day. And I’m glad you enjoy Forest Time.

Thank you for your suggestions as well! Adding SFX to the game is something that we definitely need to do soon. The do/undo system is also in our roadmap, but it will take time to implement.

Regarding the Ninja level, you need help from Bill to get the treasure :) As for THAT first treasure, ha-ha, we won’t enburden Ron with it.
