The carnival vibe is there for sure! I like the variety we get as it goes on, with different rhythms and a nice key change.

I'm going to go way deep into a nitpick in a way that I hope will be useful and practical, but feel free to ignore me if it's not:

The Eb is throwing me every time it shows up in the melody. I think it's that the 7th scale degree is never used harmonically, because the chords are F Major and G Major (neither of which contain a B or Bb).  As a listener I'm hearing it in regular F Lydian, and then when that minor 7th pops up in the melody it feels random. It places the song into the unusual mode of F Lydian Dominant, without first setting up that mode with chords or implied harmonies, so it sounds to me like a mistake.

The easiest way to smooth that out would be to just avoid Eb/E entirely. (And then correspondingly, when you move up to the key of A, it's the G that sounds off.) If you intended Lydian Dominant mode, the most straightforward setup would be to use an F Dominant chord where you currently use F Major, and then perhaps make some other tweaks to the melody. But I think you made the right choice for a carnival feel by using a pure major chord.

Whereas if what you wanted was to give a chromatic feel, then perhaps including both the E and Eb when running down from F to D would smooth that out. By also including the E natural, it would make Eb sound like a chromatic addition instead of asking it to represent all 7th scale degree notes. It would just take some finesse to do that in a way that didn't muddy things.

But that's enough of my nitpicks on Eb! It's a fun track with lots of creativity, and it creates a feel-good atmosphere for Festival City.

Thank you!

I’ve only been actually trying to learn proper music theory since april/may so these tips are very helpful. Thanks!
