@kane66688 You are absolutely right. I just wish that devs actually listened to people like you, because after seeing so many games deviate from what they originally started out as, I just don't feel confident supporting any new games coming out, as I have just ended up disappointed and not wanting to even complete the story for the games that betrayed my expectations.

A game that could be used as an example was Haremon which LITERALLY had HAREM in its name, and the initial concept for that game had been that you collected monster girls, and then would build multiple relationships with them as you got to know them before the eventual H scenes, but then one day the dev for that game had the bright idea to focus on monogamy, and as result destroyed what the game originally stood for, and after that dumb patch you now had to break up with the monster girls, if you ever wanted to see the H scenes for any of the girls that received new scenes through updates, which was not only tedious but more unrealistic than the original Harem idea, as even if these girls hated you for breaking up with them, you always had the option to hook back up with them, as long as you broke up with what was your current GF, but the dev never reverted back the change, because people still kept giving them money through Patreon, and to this day after just checking they are still receiving about $3k per month, so I really have no idea why people still choose to support them, but at least in my case I am just staying far away from that game.

Another developer that basically pulled the rug right from under me was Oppai Games, where they started making art and stuff since 2016, and then they released their first flash game around 2017, the so called "Quickie" series, which focused on a College guy that met all sorts of girls, and he had sex with all of them during their first meetings, and since each new flash game kept running with the same story, and the girls were even aware of each other, since they asked the protagonist about each other, and there were even scenes that had threesomes, it was showing that the college guy was some kind of Harem king, until the developer decided to stop making flash games and make a full game of sorts, which just to put the game on Steam back then, the developer required lots of support, as we needed to go into the Steam page for the game and ask for the game to get green lighted, as the Steam adult section was brand new at that point, and Steam didn't allow just about anyone to publish their adult games over there, unlike how it is now where the greenlight system is gone, but anyways back then it felt that the developer was just doing everything in its power to try and appeal to the masses, and then the game eventually got released on Steam as Early Access, and it was titled Not so Quickie A Love Hotel story, which eventually got renamed for some reason, and progress on the game had been fairly solid, where at first they were making new H scenes for the characters that they had already introduced from the Quickie series, but eventually the developer seemed like they were not trying as hard anymore, and they literally added the same scenes as the flash games as "new content" for their Steam game, and people didn't really care about that but it raised a bunch of flags for me, because I wouldn't have minded much if they just updated the scenes a bit, to either add more details or animations to them, or heck they could even had added clothing options for them just to make it feel premium, since you did need to buy the game to even try it in its early access form, but nope you were getting scenes and content from the already existing free flash games, and eventually I stopped caring too much about it, because at least in the games story and such, it was sort of following the same concept as the flash games, where you would meet the girls from the "Quickie" series and develop relationships with them, which actually gave you the chance to get to know them better, but just as the game was getting out of Early Access that was when the developer shattered everything they had built up to until that point, since for some illogical reason the final update to the story of the game, forced the protagonist to pursue monogamy, because their "Mommy" wanted grand kids, and it made many folks who had been following the story up until that point to regret even buying the game, as we were forced to painfully break up with all the girls, since there was no way to skip it and the scenes were heart breaking, just to get to the different endings which all felt sameish, as if the developer had just run out of ideas or whatever, and they were trying to rush the ending, which makes me begin to question if that had actually been the case, as Steam got some new policies were games were not allowed to stay in Early Access for a long time, so maybe the developer felt pressured about that and did what they did, but they didn't apologize or give any explanations, and they made the issue even worse, because a week after they updated the game to add the crap endings, they made a Patreon post where they drew a commissioned request, and in the drawing was a very sensual orgy scene where the protagonist laid in bed, with all the girls from the game, where all of them had very satisfied looks in their faces, and that just made me feel even more betrayed and insulted, as the developer had the actual work that could be made into one of the endings for the game, but even as they were asked to add it into the game, the developer refused and has not given us any updates for the game since, which is why I'm not interested in any of their future works, because during the games whole story no matter what selections you chose in the dialogues, you were always forced to choose the harem route, as all dialogues would end up in the protagonist pursuing multiple romantic relationships, which meant that you never had true choices in the game and everything was "flavor text",  and then you would end up punished for said harem route, even though the girls in the game already had some threesome scenes, which meant that they should have been aware of the protagonist being involved with multiple of them, so they shouldn't have acted so surprised during the break up scenes, as if it was so shocking that the protagonist had multiple relationships, so its why it just made no sense. And I feel that the worst of it is, that even though there were a lot of people that had many negative feelings toward what happened, they are not using their wallets to make a message, as that developer is still making about $4k monthly on just Patreon, and since they have other sources of income such as the Steam game and what they had on Gumroad and everywhere else, its as if people didn't really care about what happened.

I could keep mentioning other games and situations over why I no longer trust developers, but I feel that I have already shared enough to get my idea across, which is why I can only encourage people to be smart with their money, and if they don't like something to choose to vote with their wallets as I feel that is the best way to send a message. I was very interested in "Goodbye Eternity" as I followed every update from when the game was known as "Extra Life", and what I saw in the free versions demonstrated to me that the developer was putting in lots of effort, as for a first project I could definitely feel the polish, whether it was in the art, the UI that they used for the game, even the sounds and music that they chose, and I was satisfied with what I saw, especially at how the game at first allowed you to pursue the multiple girls in the game, but as I learned that the developer was trying to focus on monogamy, and that they mentioned that they had no plans for harems, or even adding a hard to acquire harem ending eventually down the line, that is when I lost interest in the game, and while there is a chance that maybe I'll take a look at the game again when it becomes a finished product, I am still annoyed at that 1 time when the dev was complaining about people not purchasing the game and etc, when they should understand that people have a right to support or not depending on many factors, and the most important factor for me when I support something, is that my interests align with the project I wish to contribute to, and because of what I mentioned before I just do not see that being the case for at least in the current version of the game. That being the case though, I do not wish harm or failure for the devs that I mentioned, and just because I am choosing not to support them as of right now, things could change over time as my interests may change as I continue to develop as a human being, and who knows maybe possibly down the line the interests of the developers may also align with mine, and then I may choose to support them.
