I think this is a unique idea to bring to VR. Trying to replicate the Oregon Trail gameplay style isn't something I would have ever thought to do, but your jam entry shows that there could be something here if further developed.
I saw that there were supposed to be mini-games included in this, and I think it would have brought way more to the table gameplay wise.
I did struggle a bit trying to figure out what I was doing. A tutorial section could have helped explain things and helped with guidance. I neglected that with my game and left people floundering 😅.
The amount of UI you put into the game was impressive. I ended up with a ton of UI in mine and it killed my progress. It's really can slow down the project and feels like death by 1000 cuts. For your UI, I noticed events would happen and it would require me to grab the status board constantly. For events that change statuses frequently, you might want to consider something that remains visible, or is easily displayed with a simple button click. I love the immersive aspects of your solution, but grabbing the clipboard and having to navigate with the other hand began to feel more intrusive over time.
You packed a ton in, in a short amount of time! Thank you for the entry, and I hope you join for the Halloween Jam!
