Alright what did 2/3rds of our foxes brew up?

I love the composition. It's sweet, hits the heart. You two work well together.

Constructive:

Intro strings I want to sound just a bit less harsh. I want the cello plucks to be a bit louder too.

I want a bit more wetness on the reverb, as well as maybe space. A lot of people go too dry because they're not in control of the reverb.

The two things I learned this jam that really improved things was to have two reverbs, each on their own bus, so they're running independently, receiving the same signal. I also just recorded in stereo instead of screwing around with VR or emulating it for the proportion of sounds that were real instruments.

Heh, Foxyhode, you said this was the best mixed track I've done yet - it was an accident, and what I just described was the accident! Lol.

Really solid work overall.

Oi Alex!

Thank you so much for those kind words and the constructive criticism. I think the mixing should have got most definitely more time, but we only got the song finalized like Friday evening in my time. So for mixing we both only had two days and coordinating each other’s stems. I agree with your statements and maybe after that jam we can take some further time to improve on the mix a bit more.

But also reading your comment… PLEASE don’t tease me man :D. I haven’t come around to your submission yet, but you are on my watch list. So we see us on the other side 😎

Nuuh uuuuh, I also learned about reverb from my mistakes, putting too much is also an issue, mix is fine (I also got Ty's approval after the jam ended XD). But I do agree with the intro bass string spicatto, I actually tried to make them sound more in your face but did not succeed, I might need to try and add a second bank more dry on top of it or maybe just change to pizzicatto.
