my favourite part about this piece is actually that it feels like two separate identities came together. It actually feels collaborative, which I'm really liking. I think with the overall theme and atmosphere of the track it's like a developing relationship within the song itself, just thought that was a very cool subtextual layer that came poking through for me! Otherwise, really just a wonderful listen, feels very cinematic. I think maybe compositionally there is a lot going on sometimes but that also helps the music evolve and also feed into the collaborative element I mentioned, so not necessarily a critique. Great track from the Foxes!

Reading your comment, you couldn’t have hit the nail better on its head :D. This is quite literally a song with two identities and I remember very fondly how I more than once had tried to put ideas in there that didn’t really fit with the greater vision of this song. Be it either having some sung vocal or even having some dark brakes or more distorted guitars. But I’m also glad Fox stud his ground in making it to what it is now. The original Idea was to set a song and work from each other’s input or even add to the section of the other. So that might even explain that multi-layer part a bit. But I’m really glad you liked it.
