Reforming "bad" slaves

Hi,

What's the best way to reform bad slaves? Mostly those recently captured with high escape risk, angry and so on... I know I can throw then in a cell, but I am yet to understand exactly how to use it or if it's even possible to "pacify" a slave, other than going the domination route. I've been adding them to the household and selling the same day. I even got a captured thug that was mad at me (no idea what for...lol) but for some reason had 0 escape risk. And he tried to escape that night. I was lucky I got to him on time.

You reduce escape risk by increasing affection and fear, and decreasing willpower. I recommend using the shrine to reduce will, but looking at your other questions it seems you may not wish to reduce all the NPC's will to zero? Spamming gold necklaces is an expensive way to spike affection, or repeatedly giving the day of is a longer cheaper version.

Thanks,

I might get a couple of necklaces to help speed up the process, but I've been lucky that a few of my newer slaves have  "reformed" without much trouble (the ones that don't just go to the sawmill and mines where they are treated "nicely"). But I recently took over Silfren mine and want to take over Kahill mine soon, and I need to at least have some "happy" new guards. At the farm I am making more food than I need, so that's pretty much settled when it comes to personnel. Although I have been running out of bad guys to capture (except for those really hard.

(1 edit)

Have good security. The chance of escape will be from 9 to 27%.

I sell characters with a chance of escape > 13% or to the fort (when it becomes available). Who is trying to escape for sale or to the fort.

Mine guards are being transferred from the fort. While there is no fort to buy mines does not make sense.

Thanks,

Already managed to negate all escapes by having really good security. Still have some injuries, but that is trivial. They take a while to come around, but they ultimately do. Having people live on the annex is also a good way to increase affection (better than a room at the main house for some reason...).

I give newly captured slaves a day off their first day in-house, two  days sometimes, and when I've start harvesting the flowers over at Mai Lynn's place I'll give newly captured slaves one as a gift. Immediately after capture take them to the diner and feed them but don't talk to them, and give then a $5 allowance if you can afford it. The next morning (1st day) give flowers and  the day off. There will still be some work to do, but that makes a good start -- and if they have traits compatible with your House then you'll be almost there already.

If your standing with catholic's is high and for females only a good move is to send her to the abbey. A few months there you'll have a much better behaved slave with a few better abilities.
