Description
A sort of weird ambient track. Made for one of my experimental albums on bandcamp.

Description of Setup (Optional but recommended)
The song is made on Ableton live and includes stuff I play live on a microfreak synthesizer. I made all the sounds myself. The mixing sucks, because there's a weird problem with my mixer, and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Lessons Learned
I learned there's a problem with my mixer.

Composition wise is decent, but bruh the mix is all over the place ngl.

You have some cool ideas in here. I felt like it had more of a steampunk factory in the future type of vibe.

It was hard to listen to this at the same volume on my headphones. The distorted synth at :24 and some of the drums were quite loud for me.

Nice job!

Got a bit lost with the link there, but any way good track!

I think you could tweek some stuff in the mix and sound design, some stuff is too forward and a bit harsh too.

Composition wise, I liked it, but the drums drew me off a litle bit, better pacing and placing, also tweek the sound a bit, its too distracting.

Good submission! Take care :)

What I see when I close my eyes and listen.

Concrete, industrial urban space. Maybe during winter time, but in a cozy way.  I feel like I'm in a cozy, hip place in the middle of winter.

Even though I don't think the track correlated that well, I did rather enjoy it.

I think some of the synths are a bit on the harsh side and could maybe use a little compression, but the reverb is nicely balanced.

Great work. :)

Not sure if I'd consider this an ambient track, per se. However, you have some cool sounds that I think, if utilized in the right way, could definitely form the basis of atmospheric ambience.

I'm a little confused, your link takes us to a bandcamp page which doesn't seem to have anything visably related to this jam.

Developer

Oh sorry. I didn't realize the link was supposed to go to that song. I thought it was just for my music. Sorry. That song is going to go on one of those albums, though, but I haven't finished it yet.

You haven't finished your submission yet? I'm a bit confused. Did you link the rest of your music because your submission wasn't finished in time?

Developer

I finished the submission, but I'm working on an album that the song, (Barren Wasteland) will be on. And that album will be on bandcamp. The bandcamp link just goes to my music. I make music like this under the  name "Oon". Mostly it was just a misunderstanding to put that bandcamp link, because I just thought we were supposed to put a link to where you can find all our music, and not this particular song, which I didn't put on a streaming service yet. It wasn't the song that I meant wasn't finished, but the album the song appears on, which is why the song wasn't on bandcamp.

It's impossible for us to rate your song as part of this jam if the song is not finished or even released yet. I hope you understand that.

I think the basis of a very cool ambient song are there. Personally I totally suck at creating synth based percussions so I can only tip my head for those.

Overall the synths sounds interesting and I think the building blocks for creating a big and cool ambience are there. However I feel there is so much that could have been done with. Create larger ambience with, by utilizing the stereo field more and by using effects like EQ and reverb more, to craft those sounds that surrounds the listener. Also creating more darker or deeper sound to broaden the frequency spectrum more. Also, sadly the playing leaves something to be desired, while it sounds ok for most of the time, the lead melody just feel off by a lot.

Nonetheless. You still made a cool sounding song and created this with your own synths. You should still be proud of your work 😊
