Description
An orchestral track with a feeling of meandering through a barren landscape.

Description of Setup (Optional but recommended)
I used Spitfire Audio's BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover for the instrumentation inside of Ableton Live Standard 12 with Convology XT for some reverb and Izotope's Ozone 11 for some quick mastering.

Nice piece but felt the a atmosphere a bit lacking, the mix is a bit harsh at times and I'd believe you should give more space to the instruments.
Really enjoyed the composition and it kinda fits the painting!

Good job, take care :)

Nice work, it's a nice composition.

Constructive:

The reverb is too dry. Don't be afraid to make it wetter, especially with ambience.

The strings will sound a lot better if the beginning of one overlaps with the end of another, creating a more smooth transition that sounds more realistic.

The orchestral aspect of it isn't want makes it feel less like ambience - the composition sounds like it is an introduction/reveal more than ambience. Ambience can take a lot of directions, like movement.

Nicely done.

Sounds really nice and cinematic, but i think it could be more subtle and less busy, especially considering the theme is ambience, pretty nice music nonetheless

Interesting piece here Trevor, I'm really liking the drone. Your composition really gets across the vision of meandering, and the bass to me helps place that in the frozen wastes. It's a unique submission using a full orchestra which is cool, but I don't think it's totally working for me for ambience. Nice submission tho!

The instruments themselves are nice but everything is a bit too busy for me, like nothing has room to breathe. Also, most of the instruments feel too loud. I think it would have been nicer to hear everything a bit sparser, giving more space and atmosphere. The piece itself is nice but for an ambient track it’s a little too crowded and in your face.

Feels incredibly too orchestral for an ambience jam in my opinion. The bass notes running through feel a bit stiff and lacking dynamics. The instrument choice isn't bad at all, BBC Orchestra is a fantastic suite, but I wouldn't use it exclusively composing ambience. There's a strong lack of ambient traits here, very little atmosphere, texture, or grain. It just sounds like a (rather nice) orchestral piece. Also the one bass note at the end sort of just retriggers out of nowhere it seems.
