I loved the art, of course, with the various restraints, costumes, and panty shots. Layla was cute and well-drawn and her story was interesting because you played it straight (to an extent) and really sold her frustrations with her job, like the fact that she never gets treated with respect whether she's working at her job or being sold into slavery. I liked the bit where the robot tells her she's not allowed to leave the hospital and that her elevator privileges have been revoked. Hot. I also love that you can put the bunny costume and secretary costume back on Layla after she doesn't need them any more. She looks really cute in those outfits. Would be cool to do that with the bondage gear too.
This game wouldn't have been fun/interesting without the story. And the fact that there actually is some gameplay here, even if it's standard top-down RPG maker graphics and functionality most of the time. I enjoyed seeing the story progress, discovering new areas and meeting new characters that would hopefully get tied up as well. Eye Spy was enjoyable for the art, but I didn't really enjoy the gameplay or the story. The point-and-click object finding may have been fun in small doses, or if it were entirely a point and click game like Shadowgate or something. This one is complicated in a fun way, trying to fill up the crystals (of different colors!) as well as collecting cans and just opening new doors to see where they lead. I love that the game is based around bondage predicaments, and getting to see them, and even some of the non-story characters are fun (if slightly confusing as to who's doing what in those scenes.) I was happy when I found the progressive bondage feature (I think that's in Trap House too?) but it's only in one spot. I wasn't sure if there was anything more to discover in the Box Fort but the game kicked me out for getting Layla tied up too much. I wish you could do this with the lady who ties you up before letting you into the "lesbian room."
I also had fun with the various bits where Layla is walking around restrained in a straitjacket or secretary outfit or bunny costume. Parts of that were even frustrating for me, albeit in a fun way. Like I said earlier, the girls casually and strongly objectifying her was nice--especially, again, the shower guard. I almost wish there were options to actively give in to them outside of combat. Just go up to them and say, "Hey, that sounds fun, I'll let you do it to me." Parts of it were frustrating in a less fun way, like when Layla gets naked after the mouse quest--that part's fun but I got annoyed with it once I kept hunting around but couldn't find anyone to untie her. (I also wish the player had the option to go back to the naked "costume" at will--I mean she's already been subjected to it once, right?) But then I always love dressup features and alternate costumes. You could have put 250 alternate costumes in there and I would've tried them all at least once.
I would've loved some cuddling too, particularly noncon-to-consensual cuddling in bondage, as Layla warms to the idea of surrendering to her captors--especially if they're actually nice to her! I would love a scene where Layla just lets someone own her because they prove they'd be a loving owner for her. Or if you get near certain characters in a straitjacket, ropes, etc. you can get them to play with her, chase her across the screen, etc.
Oh, I mentioned the password bit I couldn't figure out but also the bit where they only allow "asylum girls." I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to get in there, and I wanted to. Did I need to find another straitjacket or something? Cuz I really wanted to see that part. Either offering up Layla in a straitjacket or dragging in one of your friends as an offering.
The fact that I could figure out a fair bit of the game without resorting to the guides was nice, but when I did have to resort to the guides, they were generally helpful. A fair number of the puzzles and next steps made sense. I was lost about how to find the marionette scene though. I enjoyed hunting for all the different scenes (or most of them.) Also, the rat was really hard to find after it stole the Black Rose.
I also never figured out what was supposed to be on top of that bookcase at the capsule hotel or how to get on top of it. I almost got the impression that the other names in the capsule hotel were important but I guess they're mostly there for context and flavor.
There's another glitch in the room where you find the Black Rose--trying to pick up the energy drink cans broke the game for me every single time. (How many cans do you actually need? There seem to be a lot, but I guess that's okay.)
I love the fact that you can reveal all the endings after beating the game once. I would've been kinda frustrated having to play through the whole thing again.
I was really hoping for an epilogue. I wanted to see what happened to the characters afterwards--especially Ada--but also the others. Maybe they finally go to the party and Layla decides to experiment with her newfound bondage kink and all those outfits she picked up during the game. Maybe the game would even let you pick one. I was also curious as to whether Layla's victory freed any of the others--guess not because of the contract/husk problem, but it would've been cool to see them play with Layla again now that she's won.
The Aria and Lorelai endings didn't show up for me in the crystals, making me think I hadn't completed their arcs yet. In fact, I kinda hoped there would be more to the Lorelai thing since you never actually get to un-hypnotize her or fix whatever is wrong with her eyes.
Another question, what ever happened to Kristina? What made her disappear from her cell?
Some tangential comparisons: there is a game called DiaperQuest that has really great clothing and forced bondage mechanics. Getting dominated or locked in bondage doesn't end the game, but it is fun. Another game I like is called Captivity (on Itch). It's an action game and thus radically different from this one, but the frustration mechanic is awesome (mild challenge/frustration is enjoyable when a cute female protagonist is being defeated or disempowered. It's fun to watch her give up early or be overpowered. That's part of what makes Nurses good too.) Finally I love Harem Hotel for the themes of slavery and girl-girl stuff. It's story-heavy (REALLY heavy) but it's good in the same way that this game is. The story makes the erotic content MUCH better.
ANYWAY that's a lot of ideas and suggestions, some of which I know are infeasible, but they're just things I thought would be fun. I'm cutting myself off now. I hope this is informative.
