Hi, this looks fun, I do have a couple of questions...
Just to make sure I've understood, we can make the game for 1 hour at any time during the 4 days the submissions are open for? And this does not include the time it takes to make the itch page and upload and submit the game? Just 1 hour to actually create the game itself?
Are we able to use asset packs for art or must everything be made from scratch during the 1 hour? Same question for audio?
In the description it says that recording a video is optional so I just wanted to know, how are you going to verify the game was done in under an hour? Will I need to somehow prove that or is it simply based on trust?
Another question is if the time limit is strictly at 1 hour or if it's not a big deal to go like a minute beyond that in case where I'm in a middle of small but crucial process like writing last lines of code for a function.
Last but not least, you've said that using assets is fine, just want to verify, does that also applies to code? Like if I'd be allowed to take already working player controller instead of writing one, for example.
You can use some pre-made code but you must make the idea and the design. I can also tell when the game was made to see if you are cheating if you did not make a video. And it is fine if you go over time a little bit.
Hi, is it possible to work in a team? And if so should the 60 min be splitted into each member (so, for example 30 and 30 or 40 and 20) or would it be 60 min per partecipant in the team?
If you had a team which you can, all of you would be working on the game on like a call or something working on it at the same time for 60 minutes. Or you can split the time up like you said for each team member and the total time would be 60 minutes.
It counts towards the art if you want to make the art for an extra challenge or you can say it only counts for the coding and design and you can just use pre made assets, I鈥檓 not that strict about it.
Last question, I promise! What about warming up and making ready tools? I want to setup Blender (not create anything) and create Unity project before starting timer, as it can take quite some time. Is this okay?
