i want multiplayer

Same, but i honestly dont know how itd work, what happens if a player dies, only answer i could come up with is a pod, or an item to call them a replacement, that being said the pods cant dig that deep in lore so itd have to a gameplay over lore kinda mechanic

Find special type of sleeping experiment = 2nd player controls them as they wake up.

If they can’t dig that deep how are there pods with traders at all levels? Did they like disassemble them, carry all the parts to a deeper location and reassemble them?

how far down did ya make it? im pretty sure the deepest I got was like 3 or 4 and there wasnt shit down there

I think I got to 4 furthest. I saw a youtube video with a guy at a deeper level and there was a trader. I think it’s just more dangerous and expensive to make them drill further.

I think a good system would be for it to have a cooldown given time is money (or rather food wasted) in this game, and when calling somebody down the further you are the higher the chance of some malfunction and the chance of the malfunction being more severe, so that you would have to waste a bunch of medicine rather then find a very specific item.

so if they don't have medical supplies ready there's a chance the second player would immediately die and continue to not get to play? Yeah no, that's a horrible mechanic

If they don’t have medical supplies ready I don’t think the first player is surviving long anyway, so the second player wouldn’t need to wait long. Also this game isn’t really known for letting you die immediately. Maybe rather then a timer it could be some kind of parkour/inventory management/etc. minigame the second player has to win to “finish training” and get sent to rejoin the first player right after, then it’s skill-based on both parts.

you specified that the second player would come in half dead sometimes, dont backpeddle now

I've never used a medical station, so I dont know how powerful they are, but maybe you could carry their corpse to one to revive them. or, maybe you could use some sorta battery powered life support gadget that keeps their heart beating and blood oxygenated until you can find the proper treatment. Wouldn't keep them be conscious though, that'd be OP.

When one dies, you can recruit sellers, and there could be a revive mechanism for the corpses, which deteriorate more every time. And you have to recover the brain chip. Or that's how I would implement it idk

sellers are a good option, but some of them are hostile, how would that change? And they're also very sparse, I think the best bet would be allowing a call in per stage
