It's a nice and small game with great art, complementary music, and straightforward gameplay. I like how there is a different sound effect when you missed your shot, otherwise I would not have realised it. Controls are responsive but it is lacking a bit of juice when shooting. For example, some particles when a dragoon gets hit would be a great addition. Reloading feels a little pointless since it is done immediately and does not matter if I reload after every shot. Some dragoons overlap, but that's fine since it's higher score for me. Great submission and interpretation of the theme!

Thank you so much for your kind words!  The reloading was originally done one by one with a longer buffer time,  but as the game didn't progress as far as we would have wanted to, I removed it because it felt off - that's on me,  my bad :')

It depends on how you look at it. The main purpose of reloading, at least to me, is to penalise misses. Since you're already doing that by multiplying dragoons, I would consider removing it. At the same time, you can also use it to add challenge. It is really up to the designer to see what fits the game.
