I am not quite sure how I was supposed to figure out the first two shapes (top) of the puzzle and I ended up just guessing them. But I did enjoy the game and I thought it was very creative
Yes, they may have been a little too abstract. Also I think the skewed perspective on the first shape (mountains) made it harder to see how it could be entered in the puzzle.
