Wordle except you can't read is an interesting concept that I think is made frustrating by the use of many symbols of an existing alphabet.  It conveys too much information for someone who does know elder futhark - I feel like I should understand what I'm doing much more than I do because of my familiarity with the symbols (The names of the enemies kept repeatedly misleading my eyes and fingers towards trying to transliterate from latin characters to futhark). Completely not showing the enemy's name might have eliminated this problem, even if the runestones were carved with a more universally familiar script.

Unfortunately, only some of the runes belong to elder futhark, others were invented or modified to be unique. Enemy names are displayed to show that each enemy is distinct (with 1500 possible enemy variations), although players typically encounter only 20-25 on average.

Yeah I could tell that not all of them were from elder futhark, but the point stands that it really has all of the visual cues of one of those typing speed challenge games when that's not *really* the point. If the goal is to become familiar with an unknown script through trial and error, it might have been better served by something more wingdings-esque
