Great game! Echoeing on what @kreelien said ( since there's not much else to say about what's good, I'll focus on the bad lol) For starters, your game is presented really well, so I didn't expect any major bugs or gameplay issues, but there were a few. For example, the gameplay was really hard as someone who actually does play a lot of these top-down and isometric games, like Tunic. The game would benefit strongly from some sort of visual indication of where you're shooting, and speaking of visual indication- I struggled finding my way through some of the later levels due to very weird visual FX - the screen shake made me feel like I was doing the wrong thing. Coupled with the fact that the later game enemies and turrets shoot way too often and it's pretty hard to shoot them when their shots are honing and yours are, well... I can't even tell where my bullets go! Small change that would've made a huge difference to gameplay. And again, echoeing on the previous comment, I did lose my way quite a lot because a downside of having such a detailed world is the player can get lost in the process without visual cues to keep them going, and more importantly tell them what to do. I was also stuck twice when I realised I had to shoot logs.

Some other bugs: I got stuck on the third wall in the second room of starting the game, probably because I was spamming shoot button? Either way, it happened again later down the line in the centre room (room 6).

All that being said and out of the way, the visual style of your game is superb and it feels very high quality regardless. It also ties in perfectly with Ascendant lore. I just wish more of it was reflected in gameplay :)

Thank you thank you for the feedback! I completely agree with your thoughts, and I'm making some notes for potential fixes. I'm thinking of doing another game jam with this "engine" ... and your fixes would really improve things moving forwardm, too. Iterate and improve is so much easier when people leave such thoughtful comments.
