I think some sort of crosshair or guide that shows you where your shot is going to go might help the portals be more relevant in this game- that way you can actually see if going into a portal is strategically beneficial or not. As others have said also the wait times are long, either increase the traction on the table surface or force all balls to stop moving once a certain velocity threshold has been reached

I like the idea of a crosshair. We toyed with the idea of being able to apply spin to the cue ball, and a crosshair would help that immensely. That, plus a dotted guide line or somesuch to show the path would be really helpful like you suggest. We're working on the physics now, but your other ideas are on the to-do list.
