Make sure to unpack the entire zip into its own folder. The error looks like you are trying to run it out of the compressed zip.
I am attempting to run it through the official Itch app, like all previous versions, where I click "update" and then it changes to "launch" and it opens that way. (Edit: that looks like it came out rude. I was trying to be descriptive, not angry-sounding. My apologies if it came across stern or rude, not my intent.)
Update: The 0.9 version isn't even existing on my Itch app's files apparently. V086 is the only version that shows up when I click "manage" via the itch app and it shows "install" beside the V907, and "update" on this page. So, apparently, it is erroring because it is trying to update and failing to do so, hence refreshing making the 'launch' button revert to 'update'. The folder IS existing in the game's files on my PC. And neither are zipped. I'll grab screenshots.
