What version of the game are you on? This should be fixed as of v1.0.7, I remember someone mentioning this bug in a previous version.

If you're still getting this in v1.0.7, can you message me on Discord with your save file or take a screencap of the last two dialogue boxes before this locks up for you, so I can investigate what path is causing this freeze?

An easy way to skip this though would be to do a cutscene to change your Ideals, but outside of that, there shouldn't be a way with a hex editor etc. to skip it.

You're totally right. I was using not updated version. It's 1.0.5 for me.

I should update right away, thank you kindly sir! (Yes, i am one of those maniacs who download the games and rarely updates them even after Steam tells them to).

Also:

Could you please clarify this "cutscene to change your ideals"? Do you mean that I should choose any option on dialogue regarding new powers? Yeah, that's the problem for me: any option causes soft-lock.

Still, issue is on my side, I'll just look forward to update my ass, so thank you for your attention and many-many thanks to you directly for handling troubleshooting.

No worries, I love helping with troubleshooting!

As far as the cutscene to change Ideals, what I meant was that if you talked to other NPCs before going back to the boss, you could likely change whatever your highest Ideal was, but in this case it wouldn't have helped as it does look like it was the bug I was mentioning before, etc.
