If you record a playthrough of the game, I'd love to see it! You can post it here.

I was trying to beat it again, but oh lord I got stuck against prime master 19 Challenge mode lol. What deck/strategy do you think works against him? I legit spent 2 hours against him this time lol. The trick might be to exploit the AI somehow? But I forgot how.

Oof, I forgot how tough I made that fight. Most of your decks seemed good, it's just a tough fight that requires looking one turn ahead every turn. The AI is slightly exploitable as you saw when winning (he won't destroy two of his own stones to set up a good move), but there's also a specific strategy I use when playing that fight:

[https://rot13.no/?] Qba'g cynl n fgbar vs vg'yy trg qrfgeblrq vzzrqvngryl -- xrrc vg va unaq. Gura, svyy va n ovt ertvba nyy ng bapr, yrnivat ab tncf fb gung ur pna'g rnfvyl qrfgebl vg.?

Given how tough the 5 and 19 fights are, I'm thinking I might add a 3rd difficulty level of "Normal" difficulty, between the current ones.

Oooh yea that's a good stategy, I didn't think of doing it but it's actually a good counter against stone-19! It does make the fight much easier.

Also I played the rest https://www.twitch.tv/omshinwa/videos?filter=archives&sort=time though I think i kinda abused on the -77 lol. Aw you changed the layout of fight 97? I liked the challenge because it seemed like the last stone to get. It kinda forced you to use stone 23 etc,

Love the game as always!

Thanks for the stream! Misc thoughts:

  • Sorry 97 has a less elegant layout, but I want to ensure that players who skip 23 in a 20-battle challenge run don't get screwed over at the very end.  And my hope is that, for new players, the usefulness of 23-stone will feel like a clever deduction now, rather than being obviously forced.
  • Those were some nice final battles (vs 100) -- I didn't make that fight harder, it's just somewhat luck-based given the variety in his deck.
  • I've updated the game to remove the -1 stone from Room 2 of the lab, since it did seem a little broken to get it so early (and have two of them). I might nerf a couple mid-game fights to compensate, but I haven't decided which ones yet.
  • Oh neat, I didn't think about how the Winning Deck trackers can be used to plan ahead for a 20-battle run. Great idea!
  • Oh no! I didn't mean to shorten the 19 fight (20 --> 16 turns) in hard mode, only in easy mode where the board is easier! That makes the fight even harder! I'll fix that today. [edit: Wait, you won?! I posted this right before watching the last minute-and-a-half of the stream.]

  • vs the 100: I struggled so much until I added the 19-stone Siphon https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2084119067?t=0h26m2s lol, then it actually took me just 1 try (2 if you count the one where I just reset because he blocked all my opening on turn 1 lol). The 19-stone might be the best stone against him.
  • Removing a -1 stone should be fine, yes.
  • Yea I won against 19 fight in the first try lol, your advice of keeping the stones in hand if they're just going to die really made the opening better for me. Though I'm not planning to  do the 20-battle run challenge yet, I just wanted to try fighting 19 fight again with your advice lol.

Great job with those levels, I had expected most of them to take several tries. As for the lab... very funny to see my 91 trick work. Excited to see the finale!

yeah the 91 trick was hilarious in both a "really should've noticed that" but also i had more enjoyment with the midgame levels not having all those extra tools and it was harder lol

It's done (but there may be a teaser of something else...)

Thanks for sharing! It was fun seeing you get some good use out of 83, I barely used it when testing.

Also, nice job with the early double ribbon. It was intended, the tournament dialogue is just a mess that I'll be fixing shortly.

Oh, and will definitely be adding a checkmark to the tournament button!
