Hey Triple Dev,

I liked your game, it looked very pretty, ( the animations were awesome) the textures were all very clean. I also liked the voice acting you did, it matched the style of your game very well.

In the beginning, the main character mentioned some things about streaming, that made me think you're probably a streamer. It was nice to hear about some of the shared problems that streamers face,("having to do the same thing day in and day out") which really connected with me, and a lot of  audiences probably don't know about that side).

However, after I played through the full game. Looking back, it seems like you used those talking points to just draw people in, and then you went on to tell your own and a completely unrelated story. Also, the s*icide at the end, was just a plot device. It held no actual weight, since there were many other ways the main character could've broken the cycle.

I understand that you are young, (in another comment you said you were in highschool). So I'm guessing that you were well intentioned in making this game, and weren't trying to clickbait players using themes of streamer depression.

And like I said earlier, the game mechanics are solid, the story just teases really important themes that are never explored again.

I believe that you know the importance of the themes you were hinting at. But you also wanted to add in some more exciting elements. I'd suggest that for future games, you just try to focus on one story aspect at a time.

For example, I think your alt reality sci fi story, could stand great on its own, without throwing in the depression element!

Thank you for taking time to read this. Please don't get angry, I'm not attacking you, just providing some healthy criticism. Goodluck with your future game development.

Also, I made a Letsplay if you'd like to check it out :) and I do free voiceacting if you're ever interested.

Hey, thanks a ton for playing the game and for leaving such a thoughtful comment. Seriously, I really appreciate it.

I'm glad the visuals landed well for you. I get what you're saying about the story, it definitely shifts direction after the intro, and looking back, I agree it could’ve been more focused.

This was my first time really trying to tell a more advanced story in a game, so a lot of it was me experimenting and figuring things out as I went. I’m still learning how to tell stories in a way that feels more grounded and consistent. (I really didn’t want it to come off as clickbait or disrespectful)

I’ll definitely keep your advice in mind for future projects.

Thanks again for taking the time to write all this. It means a lot 🙏

Of course! I love indie games and I want to support you devs as much as I can!

Thanks for the response. I hope I wasn't coming off to badly, I did enjoy playing your game!

Tackling deeper stories is one of the hardest things to take on. There's so much more thinking and work that goes into crafting a narrative, than you'd expect.

I'm 25 now, and I didn't start realizing these storytelling nuances until pretty recently lol

Also, thank you for not taking my review in a bad way. I've met some devs, on this site, who really couldn't take criticism. But you're response has been awesome. And I think it really reflects how much you care about making games and connecting with your audience :)

Congratulations on your game's success! I'm excited to see what you work on next :)
