You are totally right: the old man first appeared in my old game (demo,a actually) "Discarded Doll Story", although he didn't really have a body, he was just lying in bed. Since Discared Doll Story was...discarded..., well, I recycled the old man sprite and turned him into the hero of this game.

You definitely missed some dialogs, but that also happened to other players. Perhaps I should have made those routes more evident (there was only a message saying that each tenant has special dialog options if you visit them again, but romance wasn't mentioned at all).
