Yes we agree, we took the risk making the discovery of the control the main mechanic, knowing that it may alienate some players, but we wanted to achieve something similiar like e.g. FromSoftware Games, where you feel rewarded for finding out yourself. Balancing this to the right point is of course very complex. 

Currently it's a mix, if refering to the comments, without knowing the exact number, I'd assume a ratio of 20ish% or so that were frustrated and stopped... although I did not analyze it. 

Great to hear you still enjoyed the aesthetics!

And finally thank you for taking your time, playing our game, especially if it wasn't your kind of jam :).
