When using a Greater Corrupt Stone, the base chance to receive a curse is 5%, and 25% upon defeat.

The Medium Stone doesn't apply curses or infections at all.
There are three new random events with new characters - if you accept their requests, they curse a random ally. Maybe that’s what happened?
