So, i gave a look into what the hell is happening with 18+ content at itch.io. apparently, an australian movement is supposedly actively pressuring Credit Card Companies, such as Mastercard, Visa, etc. To completely Ban sexual content of the site, claiming " idealization and objectification of woman's and their bodies „.

Yeah, this sucks. Itch.io is, by their words, "also shocked and trying to reassess the situation at the most quickly pace they can", but apparently, some damages will be permanent and very much likely, contents like rape, incest, and other kink fetish focused games will be forever banned...

I blame the credit card companies more since they were already on this "moral arbiter" crap awhile ago. Heck, they attacked Japanese businesses, forcing them to change or be destroyed (and some of them were destroyed regardless). Japan's government recently started putting sanctions on the companies for their actions.

(the credit card companies when told to stop by the Japanese government shrugged at them and told them they weren't responsible for stopping these businesses from existing... imagine how pissed the people and government were when they said that bull to their faces)

the credit card companies shouldn’t have any real power over what can we buy with our fucking money. I don’t even know why they bent the knee against a group of Old white Karen’s.

don’t let them fool you. It won’t stop there. They have alert expanded to all games which contains even a little bit of Elements that they dislike. Even if the game themselves don’t glorify such things, even if it condemns them. This damn group of fascists still want it banned !!!
