Also upgrades arent too consistent.
Died for the like thousand's time and after respawning I got no upgrades anymore. no spikes, no jaw, no spore. gotta start from scratch, except in level 2 :-(

you're right, the difficulty spikes a lot with level 2 ranged enemies. However, they can be one shot once they stop attacking (I think even without upgrades) if you just keep colliding against them.
On the upgrades, we know there's a bug regarding saving when you die: you must wait a little before dying again because the skills apply over time (we didn't find other solution, its a jam game after all)
On rotating to hit the enemy, you're supposed to aim to them with the mouse and hit them with your body. Having to rotate a lot to hit them with the spikes is unintended, so we should've balanced that better.
Sorry for your experience! We will keep in mind all this feedback if we launch a post-jam version :). I appreciate that you post your opinion.

Yeah, i got it for the boss but wasnt really sure afterwars so I kept my distance.
I mean initially you only can dash into stuff to hurt it but later on that seems like a really bad idea anyways.
I am also still not sure:
later on, do I jsut need to HAVE the spieks and stuff and run into enemies to damage them with it?
like spikes basically give me some damage+?
Or are spikes mouth and such physical weapons, so I need to actually poke the enemy with the spike or have the motuh visually bite him?
spores obviously are exempt since they are ranged weapon anyways
