Itch are not victims. Game devs are the victims.
Itch chose short term profits.
itch chose to not shutter their own damned platform. If they had chosen to take a stand, not only would NSFW devs have lost the ability to profit from their work on Itch, but the SFW devs, too.
Don’t get tangled up in the details and lose sight of the big picture. SFW devs aren’t going to be left SOL, and we can focus on preventing the payment processors from doing this elsewhere.
There are a lot of victims here. But curiously enough, none of them were hurt by the evil adult content exisiting.
The culprits are activists trying to rule what you can play. First victim are payment processors. Second victim are platforms threatened by the payment processors to lose their means of existing. Third victim are developers relying on those platforms. And forth vicims are the customers that just like to play their smut in peace.
Please do not try to paint Itch as profit oriented. Credit card companies are. Itch is not. Itch has free revenue share and does not even sell your data and plasters you with advertisement. Go visit GameJolt to see the difference.
