I see, I didn't even notice. As the fun o meter drops, you could add a visual filter like distortion and maybe slow down the music to draw the player's attention to it more. You could also make the job mini game go noticeably slower, then add a line like, "Ugh... I need something fun to pass the time," the first time it happens if you don't want to say it outright.
