Thank you so so much for playing! And for taking the time to write this review too! I really appreciate it, it's by far the longest feedback I've received on a project so truly, thank you for leaving it!
I'm glad you loved the concept and I'm very happy you got to make up additional mechanics to make your experience more fulfilling. Honestly the point of any game is too have fun so whatever works for you to make it work is excellent. I'm used to playing solo games that give the player a lot of agency (for example Last Sabbath or Perigon Falls), while my previous solo games kept it very low creating an hybrid with gamebooks, and I love both "schools of thought" so your insight is very valuable to me!
Due to scheduling conflicts, in creating this game for the jam I could only squeeze in a really quick playtest, so I absolutely agree the game might need more work in the future (and that's why I intend to leave it pay-what-you-want, so I can always add stuff in the future). When I rework this game in the future, because I absolutely feel like it deserves it, I will likely add tables for Side Characters creation (mostly because I enjoy creating Side Characters a lot) and possibly a few pre-made ones as well for inspiration. I'm also thinking of adding a videogame-inspired difficulty/risk level for performing certain actions/acts to make players think outside the box when creating the story!
Long story short, stay tuned because I hope this game will get better and better in the future, and it will also be thanks to your amazing feedback. And also, thank you for telling your game experience and thank you for the photo! That's actually so cool! I'm glad you had fun and I hope I hear from you again!
