I came back and looked at it again, it looks like if you just keep going past the ranger, the text doesn't continue. If you fall off again and respawn, that's when the text continues. I didn't see it the first time because I did not fall off after the ranger.

I actually like the way the character controls for the most part after going back to it again, it's snappy and fun to move around... The jump feels a little clunky is all. You could even take it out entirely and do something more Kingdom-like, it could still have a strong story focus without needing to worry about platforming level design. Idk, just an idea :) Glad I got to see the rest of the text though!
