nice idea, but the grappling seems a bit pointless, I was able to go really far without using it at all, and when I did try to use it, it messed up my movement more than it helped

If you intend to work on this game further, I would suggest making the grappling point a platform or just something bigger. I find it hard to click on it with a mouse when moving at high speed. Also, make the length of the grappling variable, so that the player doesn't just snap into place when they land the grappling. Not only does it feel clunky, but it also cancels out their momentum. If you have time, maybe check out rusted moss. Although I haven't played it, that game's grappling mechanic looks really good.
