Game was fun, but I wasn't sure what the exact effects of helpful/vs report did. Will promoting reviews that mention negative effects help? Or just proliferate the problem if the rating is high?

Thanks for playing Twig. The game tracks your reactions and "scores" you depending how you react to evil or non-evil reviews. Your score will be evil if you react positively to evil reviews or negatively to non-evil reviews and vice versa. Handy tip: you can always tell which reviews are evil because it says it at top of the review :) . If you have an evil score, you'll know it because the game flips into dark mode.

Every third review is special and may be evil or non-evil depending on your current score.  These reviews are followed by one of two possible news alerts. There are two endings, also based on the score. Some people didn't notice that the endings are different. They're similar but one is bleak and the other one is also bleak but has hope for the future.

I didn't write about this much before because I wanted people to just enjoy the story, and the story you get is the story you asked for. Most people seemed to enjoy the darker path.

Thanks! I did notice that evil part, but your explanation helps. I'll give the bad ending a shot.
