I didn't met that problem. Maybe you should share your font but I doubt its because of large font.
Its no big deal. I went the "long way" and made my own png bitmap file. In a way, im glad it didnt work for me (this converter) as it would have robbed me of learning a lot more about fontforge and a few other things on photoshop. 🦇👍🏻
