I'm kinda near the end of what's available. I find it intriguing that the side characters are more attractive to me than the datable ones. The serpent Yarin encounters at the beginning (who backs out when she realizes the VIP elevator is too full) stood out, but I think Zaran instantly became my husbando for this game.

(Next paragraph is most important for me, rest is just general thoughts)

Sad he doesn't have much available, the few scenes Yarin gets in proximity to him are nice and make me want to know this character more. Guess it's not too much to ask to add a date with him? I think his popularity might get a lot higher, based on the original log where he was added seems there was quite some love sprinkled into the "gentle giant." I could make my own scenes with him, but I think the magic is in seeing the author's iteration :P

As for the story itself? It's intriguing, I'm honestly glad to see a premise that isn't "human with furries/dragons/dinosaurs," but rather... some strange witchcraft gone wrong XD - This is coming from someone who recalls Roses In The Flames, Angels With Scaly Wings, Perihelion, DinoNite, Dino Of My Dreams, so there's a lack of variety, let alone visual novels that are complete in the first place. Oh, I should also praise the use of "non-human" names for the most part. Helped with immersion aside of a few that are off (Camila).

As for the characters? Well, lemme fill (the reader) in with my scoring grade. 5/10 is the worst you can go because it means the character is forgotten/forgettable. A 0/10 means you made a character perfectly incompatible with me and offensive :D, a 10/10 is making a character that's perfect for my tastes. Getting a 0 or a 10 is nearly impossible, but getting close isn't.

Zaran is a 9/10 based on what little I see of him. A few flaws in design with the black markings but far less offensive than Magma from Roses In The Flames XD (admittedly it's intriguing if those were actually just some kind of tattoo or added marking that only works on scales, if not even make-up because why not, he looks like the kind of goof to draw lines and shapes on his face as a sort of cosmetic)

Yarin - 8/10, good protagonist, not as offensively poorly written as in RiTF, not as great as in AWSW, but I can still question how he can remember some things when he's supposed to have amnesia, let alone remembering what other business scalies do that Kovle wouldn't. Some of the scenes were excellently written to the point even I was a little disoriented with what was going on.

Corvolin - 7.5/10, decent, I read there's far more to him than is currently in the game, I like myself a good, chunky character, and this one has quite the mystery included~ Success

Brymror - 8.2/10, a nudge above Yarin, I see him as a half feral so bonus points, and he reminds me of Blazamut from Palworld which apparently is also a design partially akin to that of Monster Hunter or some other game? Overdesigned, but fitting for his personality, and definitely does the irate archetype far better than RiTF. I see his behavior even more realistic than Yarin's considering what transpired. Definitely deserved the third date even though I haven't played a single one, but the main route stuff is great!

Cedrik - 7/10, I like the prospect that I may be able to "switch gender" sometime in the future. Wouldn't mind being a female if not even being transformed into a dragon due to some "misfortune," but I'll settle for dating Zaran. Back to Cedrik, he's okay, but I think he eventually blended into the background after I did his second date on day 3.

Kovle - 6.5/10, I'm not sure if his design fits entirely, but his character does. Had he not been an important character, he'd be forgettable, which is sad cause he seems to be of the few closest to being feral in this game.

Garreth - 4.5/10, I'm mixed here, Garreth seems nice and I do like some of his scenes at the bar, but I'm not the kind to like the extra buff guys, let alone the spikes around his neck. His goods look as nice as his personality but seems like a lost datable slot for me, especially when Brymror already does a great job at being the overdesigned buff one.

Azorin - 5.5/10, I'm mixed but leaning into the positives. Azorin's design definitely has grown on some people, not so much on me... The male organ definitely a questionable choice considering Garreth's but I can let it slide since I didn't mind Brando's. I'm not sure, I had a good time with this character but aside of being a coffee connoisseur, I feel he left little impact on me.

Mindala - 7/10, decent villain, sad she's the only fully feral western to get proper attention to her character. The bondage was interesting and I'm happy to see a bad ending to put some weight to Yarin's actions for once instead of the usual pop media just... Aside, I'm interesting to see where this character goes, if it needs to. These kinds of villains are quite intriguing to just piece together and figure out.

The kobold - (I'd make a joke of him being the best character but Zaran exists so) 8/10. He does his job and is memorable just by serving and occasionally having these moments where you're cut off just as he was gonna say something interesting. Also, the fantasy scene in Day 1, chef's kiss. Was not expecting it, but I appreciate it.

Brando - 7.5/10, he's a widow who's only warmed up to Yarin for the first time in who knows how long. He's quite effective as a character and if this was the only character with the humanoid shaped lamlam then that'd be quite a surprising but great choice.

The alligator - 4/10, much like Magma from RiTF, I'm not sure if I like random round markings on the face. Makes it hard to look at them. Aside of that, I think she blends nicely as a background character.

Camila - 5.5/10, she's the BDSM girl and has connections to the police chief. Not my type, but very sure someone will like her very much.

Roy - ?/10, haven't met this one yet, although a little disappointed to hear they're a wolf. I was kinda sold on this being a mostly scalies world, which made it stand out among furry media. Aside, I don't think I can judge this book by it's cover as that's all I know of them.

The deer one - 5/10, forgot their name, the only thing I remember of them is the notebook and having to repay them for interrupting their sleep.

Lucra - 2/10, I genuinely thought she'd be a dragon or even a succubus from what I heard from Cedrik. Being the female with the piercings and a species I have no interest in, she's probably the only character I'd actively avoid, but isn't a detriment to the novel enough to warrant a lower score.

I think that's all I have in mind, I never posted in itchio before so I dunno how the censorship regime works here. Just thought I'd post because my big boi Zaran needs some attention and I want to gib some :3

Thank you for your feedback, it was quite a treat to read.

As far as I am aware, there are no automods or the likes on itch.io, so moderation happens on each page based on the game/project owner. The only things we (Juicy Drakes Studios) delete in the comments are offensive comments and bots. "Offensive" doesn't mean criticism, but rather someone trying to bait others for hateful responses, etc.

I am a bit confused at why you don't like Lucra and Roy; the presence of mammals is important, given the in-universe happenings. Those happenings will become a bit more clear over time, but while we do focus on scalies, the occasional "furry" popping up isn't an accident or just us trying to appease one audience or the other.

The oddities you are noting with Brymror is because he was originally made by a different artist. We got more consistent with character design over time, so I am glad you enjoy the way we are currently designing characters.

Side-characters have gotten a lot more attention lately, since we are trying to make the first act of the game (everything up until you leave for the trip to the river) as solid as possible. The elevator kobold will even get a few more scenes at the very least.

Brando is a fan-favourite, so we will probably write more scenes for him, too.

Zaran is actually a patron character, so we haven't written more content for him yet, given that we are currently restructuring the game: Each character has gotten their own proper file and progression values.

It'll make it more modular and easier to write new content for each character. We are going to keep working on each of the characters; Garreth is going to get a full-on rework, but I (Baku) haven't been able to continue that yet since I am currently rewriting the entire game engine in Godot 4

Thanks a lot for your feedback again, and we hope you enjoy the updates that we'll present in the future!

wait, so the snake isn't datable, has no scenes?  damn thats a dissapointement.... no one ever does snakes v.v

I missed your response, sorry.

The snake is intended to be dateable, which is why he is shown so early. The reason why he doesn't have any scenes yet is because of who he is. He has involvement in the plot which we couldn't reveal yet, but we are aiming to add a few early scenes with him. One is even written out so far, but not added to the game yet.
