I am glad to hear you enjoyed the bad ending with Mindalu, hehe. More bad endings are planned. We are currently still in the middle of rewriting the game engine; we want to properly convey failure states before you become a "dead man walking" in order to avoid frustrations.

There is a scrapped "strike system" we used to have, but I have been thinking of reintroducing it as an optional feature, but we're still working on these features as we speak.

More bad endings will most likely come with Day 11 and so.

I looked into it, it seems that I messed up something regarding the logic with Brym.

The highest progress score you can have with him is 2... but for the romance path it checks if you have a score of 3 or higher. I will adjust this.

I am not sure really what is going on. I went through this segment several times with several variables ticked on or off but it didn't happen even once to me yet.

I am however, also starting out a new game every time. Old save files may break with newer versions of the game.

These encounters that you describe used to work properly, however after a variable refactoring, I must have still missed a few old variables. Brando will only approach you if you are "horny", which means being open to sexual encounters.

That is being tracked through choices you make earlier... however, if you don't see him asking you before you get the option to meet up with him, that is definitely a bug.

Currently, I am putting more focus into the engine rewrite, given that all the story script files will need to be re-implemented again. I don't want to make any promises, but I imagine I should be getting close to finishing up the engine rewrite in a couple months, hopefully.

The snake is intended to be dateable, which is why he is shown so early. The reason why he doesn't have any scenes yet is because of who he is. He has involvement in the plot which we couldn't reveal yet, but we are aiming to add a few early scenes with him. One is even written out so far, but not added to the game yet.

We are currently aiming for a bi-monthly release, but we will release builds sooner if we can. Currently, a full rewrite of the engine is taking up almost all of my dev time for Identity.

It is a common question we are getting as the game actually is starting to get quite voluminous with content.

While a dev-internal wiki is currently getting worked on, it's not going to be released to the public... at least not yet. However, we are currently working on an in-game feature to show you progress.

The snake has been planned since the start to be a major character, already. We haven't gotten around yet to releasing content with him yet, however we do actually have a scene written out with him already, that we can release in the current chapter.

There is no sex scene yet with Cedrik. Behind the scenes I have been working on a dev-internal wiki to document our content. It's currently not a priority to release a changed (read: spoiler-free) version to the public yet.

However, with the Godot 4 engine rewrite we are planning to add an in-game feature that will tell you your in-game progress with a character.

Hello there!

It is always nice to see fellow programmers. While it is true that a lot has changed from Godot 3 to 4, it also has several things that at least, I personally, consider essential for a text game, such as improved BB-Code.

On the other hand, the Godot 3 VN-framework for our game wasn't written by me. Having to fix the existing framework will amount to about the same kind of work given that I'd need to shoehorn solutions and further study code that somebody else wrote.

The main things that we need to port over (which are also almost finished) are the animations, and windows. But, everything else, like the text logic, saving, loading, image logic have to be rewritten from the ground up, anyway.

I would say I am about 30% done, but it is very time consuming as you said. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but recurring bugs are a persistent thing that players report. I would rather just fix the bugs than have fans put up with those bugs to enjoy our game.

When are you trying to date him again? You can only access the second date when prompted during on Day 8 when you are in the bar with him.

Thank you for your feedback, it was quite a treat to read.

As far as I am aware, there are no automods or the likes on itch.io, so moderation happens on each page based on the game/project owner. The only things we (Juicy Drakes Studios) delete in the comments are offensive comments and bots. "Offensive" doesn't mean criticism, but rather someone trying to bait others for hateful responses, etc.

I am a bit confused at why you don't like Lucra and Roy; the presence of mammals is important, given the in-universe happenings. Those happenings will become a bit more clear over time, but while we do focus on scalies, the occasional "furry" popping up isn't an accident or just us trying to appease one audience or the other.

The oddities you are noting with Brymror is because he was originally made by a different artist. We got more consistent with character design over time, so I am glad you enjoy the way we are currently designing characters.

Side-characters have gotten a lot more attention lately, since we are trying to make the first act of the game (everything up until you leave for the trip to the river) as solid as possible. The elevator kobold will even get a few more scenes at the very least.

Brando is a fan-favourite, so we will probably write more scenes for him, too.

Zaran is actually a patron character, so we haven't written more content for him yet, given that we are currently restructuring the game: Each character has gotten their own proper file and progression values.

It'll make it more modular and easier to write new content for each character. We are going to keep working on each of the characters; Garreth is going to get a full-on rework, but I (Baku) haven't been able to continue that yet since I am currently rewriting the entire game engine in Godot 4

It might not have been clear, but what "setting the pace" means in this context is "waiting". You can either choose to have sex with him now or later.

Brym is the kind of character who can only give himself to people he really trusts, so your relationship won't become superficial only based on this choice.

We are currently writing several variations with him on day 10, and generally, if you mess up, you will be let known if you did. Brym is the type of character to tell you right away if something is wrong.

None of us can speak or read Chinese, so if you are asking if there will be a localisation for Chinese: We don't have any plans for any localisations, currently.

We want to finish the game (in English) first, before we pay for any potential localisations, as our game as-is is focused on writing.

Translating our game is a non-trivial task, as we do have lots of flowery writing and puns, for example.

It seems we forgot to add the devlog for version 0.3.12. We will be summarising it together with 0.3.13, as that build should be making out in April.

I hope that we'll be able to ship it either next week or the one afterwards.

It is already getting reworked at the moment due to a lot of persistent bugs with how the game saves the game state.

We didn't have plans yet to change the UX of it, but you bring up a good point that you don't see any differences in the state of a save file aside from the date and the thumbnail.

Given just how many characters you can progress with at the same time, it's a little bit of a conundrum how to convey relevant information.

We will be brainstorming about this, but I wouldn't expect a change in the UX to come out soon.

At the moment I am focusing on improving forward compatibility of save files.

It's a tricky question to answer, but we are aware of how slow our progress is. We can't really give you an estimate, but we are hoping to finish this game within two years.

We currently have to overcome a massive bump with the game engine but once we are past that, I (Baku) can focus almost entirely on writing.

Currently, two writers (Gherod and Baku) produce all the writing content for the game, but with myself currently working on programming that has slowed things down a bit.

We are still hoping to release a build this month, but until I am done with the engine fixes, I find it hard to foresee when we will release 1.0.0.

I am sorry, I could not give you a more satisfying answer, but we work as quickly and as hard as we can.

I have always been under the impression that Garreth is the least favourite character at the moment, but we will also be refining his existing content after Kovle.

We get requests for more Kovle content fairly often along with Cedrik.

this really made our day, thank you a lot for your comment.

I am currently working on an entirely new framework to support the intersex content. It also involves determining how many times you've had sex with which characters and also in what contexts.

I am not sure how much of a continuation this route with Cedrik will get with the next patch, but, I am planning to release more intersex content with the next build... however, for the public build that will be two versions away.

I don't know when the update afterwards will come out, but if we keep up our bi-monthly release schedule, it'll be in February 2025.

I have not heard of this bug before. Does this still occur after closing and opening the game again?

I have not tested this game on Linux or Mac, so I am not sure if this is an OS-specific problem.

Not yet, it has been on the backburner/our to-do list for a while but other things ended up taking priority. Right now, we are going to start working on an inventory screen.

Without giving away too much, we do have plans for the spoiler characters you mentioned.

As far as dates for other characters go: we actually are currently working on them. The next big content drop will be a rework to days 6 - 8 given that they are fairly short compared to all other days.

It'll allow for characters like Kovle to get some time to show up.

Regarding CGs of Azorin: Do you mean such for the sex scene? Because they should be in the build unless you are referring to something else.

The reason why the dream segments soft-lock you currently is because a third option "Sleep without a Dream" doesn't get displayed.

I don't know why that option doesn't show up on existing save files considering that its presence is unconditional.

I test every build on a completely new save file and it should work, but we do not have a cheat menu to allow you to recoup any progress you lost, sorry.

We are going to rework the existing days 5 - 8, so existing save files will get broken again.

The way the save file system currently works is that it dumps the current RAM into the save file. As a side-effect, this means that it remembers the code as it was in the prior version... which isn't a problem if it doesn't change, however, if it does change, that is where unpredictable bugs can happen.

It's the default saving system from Godot, and I am planning to write our own save handler, change the way the game tracks progress in order to make it agnostic to the build version.

But that will take some time to come out, so I cannot offer a quick fix, unfortunately.

We do not have any plans for localisations outside of "Maybe after the game is finished".

Considering that we're just about to get into act 2, and we still have at least 3 more ahead of us, there won't be any localisations for a long while.

I also call it "localisation" and not "translation" because, for example, a lot of the jokes that characters like Cedrik crack are puns which you cannot translate 1:1.

Currently, we just do not have the time or funding to hire another person to localise the game for us into any other language, and then also to check their content.

Corvolin is one character that has been on my mind quite a bit as well. There is already a lot of content with them that isn't finished yet.

It is probably one of the most expansive characters I have written yet, but as a result, writing this content has taken me longer.

I am hoping to get to work on Corvolin next again, actually.

I have already been planning out the framework for the intersex path. I even started to write out a bit of content for it. It will also be accessible through other characters, but there will be variations.

So, short answer: Yes, there is content planned for it!

I am not really sure what the issue is, because I develop the game on Windows, albeit I am on Windows 10. Which one is your OS?

Are playing the public or the patron build?

This bug has been fixed by now. The reason why the Brando content only looped sometimes is, this bug only occured if you had slept with Brando, which skipped part of the next day forward.

This had also skipped some game logic, so the game still thought it was on day 3, even though it was already showing parts of day 4.

Cedrik does have two dates at the moment. In the first one the two of you hang around in the spa area, in the second one you go to a diner together. Have you not been able to access the second date?

And regarding your question about art commissions: We are fine with fanart, as long as it isn't being resold. So, commissions are fine, but not if you were for example to wanting to use this art in selling prints or within another game that you make yourself and then sell.

Commissioning fanart is fine by us. You can probably even ask our artists directly if you would like them to make you something.

It should be fixed with the next release. Thank you for letting us know.

Lone_Wanderer here, we are currently looking into it; it used to not do this specific sound bug before.

I am currently also working on some fundamental changes to prevent bugs like these to happen in the future.

edit: I simply disabled the sound until we figure out the underlying issues. This change will also go live in the next public version.

There is intimitate content with Corvolin at the end of day 4. In order to get to see them again you'll have to choose any but the last option when this "orange warmth" appears in your dreams.
