I have a question about the jam, specifically the "number one newbie" part. How exactly will you be able to tell if someone has entered a jam before, and do non-itch jams count? I'm pretty new to itch so I'm not quite sure about how you can see how many jams someone has entered without having to go to every single entrants' account.

Check their profile and if they don't have anything then they're most likely a newbie. However, you bring up a good point with non-itch jams, and maybe they've started a new account too

frankly there's really no GOOD way to tell if this is someone's first rodeo so to speak.

I'm not sure it'll even show I've been in this jam either when the clock runs out on me (because there's no way I'm gonna have something I'm happy with in 2 days).  And in the same vein, you'd have a hard time knowing where the code and assets came from.... You're SUPPOSED to start from scratch code-wise (at least the bulk of it), but there's really no way to verify that either.

It's an honor system, even if I have to stare at months worth of perfectly decent code (what survived the NAS failure anyway)  and half decent models that I can't use without cheating because I'm slow. lol

(1 edit) (+1)

They are most likely only going to check the winners, so will be more able to complete a background check
