i guess i could go ahead and leave some feedback a long boring rant here lol

-that was pretty good and i enjoyed it! the tutorial is absolutely gorgeous first of all

-nothing really of note about chaos, it's good but its kinda disappointing how the ending is completely unchanged from normal mode (perhaps it could be made more unique)

-the new dithering used on the new sprites in my opinion is pretty ugly compared to what was used everywhere else. doesn't really ruin anything though and that's just my opinion

-the new fire sprite looks nicer compared to the older one but looks... too small and puny, like it barely looks like a threat. if anything it looks more like something out of ybbr

neither of the sprites look like they match with the actual icon which is something to consider

the main meat of what i want to talk about however is the extras,,.. they were also pretty good (although due to my horrible math skills i watched someone else beat math madness for me)

-most issues with spelling run have already been noted (the tiny resolution and foliage covering words) so i wont talk about that here, it's great nonetheless (although i wonder if anyone's seen how the words can be seen when looking back which i can't say seems intentional)

-math madness is good as well, and i don't have anything to comment about aside from the final round. i'm a fan of the sparkles but i don't think the flashing was that necessary, it seems distracting and overall too much

if i had to replace it, i had the idea of putting a spotlight over foxo, you, and the other player, which i think could increase tension a bit without overdoing anything

the other thing though is the music. i hate to be saying this (and the song itself is good) but it couldn't be more predictable if it tried, as the instruments and the general chord progression (?) of the song is pretty typical of your music style at this point. again, nothing bad about the song itself but like it doesn't really fit with the other songs in the ffs soundtrack either and could be more unique

-oh yeah another thing; the game seems to have intended lore but never once is it gone into in depth which is pretty disappointing. i hope the full game does expand on the storytelling and gives us a bit of a... heh.... closer look 👀 on what story is actually being told here (same with ybbr i guess whenever that gets worked on again)

i hope i wasn't too harsh on anything, and i'm pretty interested to see where the game goes in the full release,,,, hope some of these things can be taken into considerationoin!

  • The reason why the Chaos (secret) ending is the same is because the way it was intended to look was already done back in 1.2. Considering 1.2 was made during 2.0’s development, all the new stuff in 1.2 pretty much already has the stylistic improvements that 2.0 has
  • I might re-render all the sprites at some point so they have consistent dithering. It’d be a chore but it’d make the game look better
  • The fire was a last-minute decision for someone lmao
  • Both extra modes need a TON of fixing. I’m glad a lot of people have already noted their criticism, because that’s what a demo really is for lol. Both are probably gonna get a slight visual overhaul before 2.0 releases
    • Final round music in Math Madness was also very last-minute. I’ll change it before 2.0’s out
  • I’ve got the lore in good hands. Don’t worry

-what i meant was about the regular/elevator chaos ending which is the exact same one from normal mode, isn't bad or anything but maybe -you could come up with something new for it

-if you do do that you might want to try to find a version with the original pdn dithering (the one that was used in ybbr) i know this is nit-picky as hell but the new one they added in an update has strange artifacts

-given the nasty comment on another thread (which is likely what prompted the change) it did seem pretty last-minute lol. me and david were basically in agreement with our stance on that and the music

-as for the lore thank god lmao
