My best guess is that the dev got a DMCA from the Nintendo-ninjas for it being too close in gameplay/feel to Metroid. But that's just a guess, not even educated at that.
That doesn't add up. You cannot DMCA for feel or look (unles it is an unequivocal copy, an Zordak isn't). I guess just life happened for the dev.
No DMCA. Dev is more active on his Discord. He has been having a rough time and has put this project on an indefinite hold sadly.
