Exploring the limits

Hello there!

I have some questions regarding the limits of what is allowed or not for this jam. I know it is a fun and chill project, so I don't expect it to be very exigent, but I still want to do things right.

1. Demos are allowed, but I wonder what counts as a demo for a visual novel. Would it be valid to make one chapter with the "arc" of it mostly finished for a story that would continue later on?

2. Is it okay if, in those chapters in the future (after the jam is finished) the prevalence of these insects is lower/another non insect character takes a lead role? I know it is out of the jam, but I want to make sure the story is allowed to drift away into other topics and it is not considered "treason" to our lovely bugs :P

3. This is a bit less relevant to the topic of the jam, but does Commercial Use apply to free visual novels in itch.io? I know you can always make donations to them, which makes me unsure about the limits of this term.

I think that's all, thank you in advance!

Hi!

1. I think what constitutes as a demo for a visual novel varies from person to person, but what you've described sounds perfectly suitable for a demo!

2. Ultimately, it is your game, and I feel like it would be unfair of me to say what you can or can't do with it after the jam is finished. As long as what you're entering into the jam features bugs, then that's all that matters, and what you decide to do with it after the jam is completely valid!

3. Commercial use just means if you wanted to charge for your game, you can do that and still enter it into the jam! Free games and paid games are both allowed.

Hopefully this answers your questions! If you have any more, or need more clarification, don't hesitate to ask!
