The bugs are back in town, with Bug Jam 2: Electric-Bug-aloo~ A summer time sequel to my previous Love Bug Jam, this jam is basically the same, just summer themed!
The purpose of this jam is to spread some love to the much underappreciated creepy crawlies of the world. Just like last time, all mediums are welcome! From asset packs to TTRPGs to Visual Novels to Video Games, anything goes as long as it focuses on bugs.
Also, important to note: If you took part in the Love Bug Jam and were unable to finish your project, made a demo you wanted to expand, or otherwise had a project you wanted to build on, you are welcome to do that for the June Bug Jam! It must be a game that you started/made for the Love Bug Jam though, and you may not just resubmit the same game without any notable changes (updated art or story, new levels or features; some sort of substantial addition that makes it a separate entity from your first submission).
-
THEME: Bugs! This includes insects, arachnids, terrestrial arthropods, terrestrial gastropods, and worms!
Optional Theme: Summer
RULES:
- Bugs must be a central theme/focus of your game. While they don’t HAVE to be the playable character(s), they should focus prominently in the game!
- Please try to refrain from making bugs the enemies in your game. This jam is about appreciating bugs! So no ‘bug squashing simulators’ or anything like that. Something with a bug trying to hunt/survive against other bugs is fine.
- Anthro and humanoid bugs are welcome!
- Mild NSFW is allowed (body horror, gore, suggestive themes), but make sure to mark it accordingly!
- Should go without saying, but racism, sexism, and LGBTQphobia are not welcome here. If your game is found to promote any of these things, it will be removed.
- Your game can be commercial or non commercial, just make sure you have the rights to use any assets you’re using!
- Using pre-made assets is fine, so long as you have the permissions to use them!
- Generative AI is not allowed for this jam.
If you have any questions, or are unsure if your idea meets the criteria, please feel free to reach out in the community!
