Turning VSync on and then back off crashes the game. Turning Alt VSync on crashes the game. Then turning on normal VSync crashes this time too. I dunno. Playing 0.8.1 on a windows 7, trying to stream on Discord at the same time, seems to work otherwise.
Your sprite can clip under buildings’ sprites, specially diagonal ones:
I still visually lose myself in the first level because everything is beige.
Tall buildings shimmer quite a bit when the camera moves, both on the rooftop edges and on the sides sometimes.

Sorry about the VSync crashes. If possible, try removing the DBGHELP.dll from the folder; that's a patch for Windows 10/11 computers and it's possible it might interfere with Windows 7 depending on how updated your version is.

Yeah, that's something I've been meaning to fix. The depth is determined via the old trick of depth=-y, so it's basically comparing its height from the center instead of anything in 3D space. I'll see if when I eventually switch to GMS2 I can do something with draw buffers to fix it.

I'll see if adding some contrast and overlay shaders can improve it, I'm still not happy with the visibility on it either.

That's due to the sprite stacking layers shuffling with the camera. I think I have an idea on how to fix it though.
