Completely understand the frustration with the lack of incentive to shoot - you're absolutely right, and it's something we hoped to improve. We had plans for a combo system (like fire fizzling out on dirt, fire and water canceling each other, etc.), plus more level-based mechanics, but unfortunately ran out of time. Art took up a big chunk, which left less room for programming. We're always looking to improve, and your feedback really helps.
