Hey! Actually, many special abilities are already implemented in the current version
Here’s what’s supported so far:

Weather cards (Frost, Rain, Fog) that affect entire rows

Spy units that play on the opponent’s side and let you draw 2 cards

Medic cards that can revive a unit from the graveyard

Morale boost (+1 to all units in the same row)

Horn to double row strength

Decoy to swap a card from the field with one in your hand

Bond (duplicate units boost each other’s power)

Hero cards that are immune to weather and buffs

Clear weather cards

And a few others like random power or damage-row effects
So yeah, most of those “Gwent-style” mechanics are already in.
That said, I do plan to expand even more in the future with passive effects, conditional triggers, or even custom scripting per card.
